System Requirements for The Timetabler V7TE

For successful installation and use of The Timetabler V7TE, your system must meet the following requirements:

• Microsoft Windows XP or Windows VISTA
• PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) is supported but performance will be limited.  A faster processor is recommended.  We use 1.6 GHz in our training room.
• 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM as a bare minimum, more recommended.  We use 512 MB in our training room.
• Super VGA monitor and video adaptor with screen resolution set to at least 1024 x 768 small fonts setting. (VGA 800 x 600 supported but this will limit performance and appearance of some features)
• 100 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space
• CD-ROM or DVD drive
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
• Microsoft Excel and Word are recommended for use with many reports
• To install, the user login must have full administration rights to install and activate.

The Timetabler Version 7TE meets all the essential requirements of Microsoft’s Designed for Windows XP program.  There are only two guidelines that we do not meet and these are minor points that result from the product being written in Borland Delphi.  They relate to the sizing of some windows when using 120 DPI system fonts – note that the normal size of the system font is 96 DPI.

We digitally sign all our executable files and all our distribution and installation files. 

Prior to release, the program is put through an extensive testing program on every one of Microsoft’s supported versions of Windows.  We guarantee that it will be fully functional on any version of Windows that is supported by Microsoft (including future releases).  Our Product Lifecycle page on our web site clearly shows our support policies.

We use the Microsoft Access database file structure for our data files.  However, we register our data files in Windows and if a user double clicks one of our data files the associated module will open and load the data.

Our printing engine provides users with the ability to save any of our reports in PDF (Adobe Acrobat), HTML (able to display in any web browser), RTF (can be opened by Microsoft Word), as text files or as Formatted Excel workbooks.
