Daymap is a database driven web based application utilising the full power and flexibility of SQL Server and the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 that delivers information to a users laptop, desktop or PDA. DayMap has received the Microsoft certifications "Verified for Windows Server 2003" and ".Net connected".

 

Day Planner (teachers)

This page will give you an overview of your day. It includes:

·         Your timetable of classes, including class notes and homework

·         Notes for ‘non-class’ periods

·         Current bulletins

·         And if using Outlook Integration: recent emails, task lists, and appointments for the day.

 

 

Class Lists and Roll Marking  (teachers)

Click on any of the classes in the Day Planner and the Class List and Class Details will appear. From the Class List you can:

·         Roll mark – allows you to click all as present

·         Enter student absences and reasons (will include absence if already entered by administration)

·         View summary of individual student absences (right click on student name)

·         View summary of class absence / attendance history

·         View and edit individual students details

·         Print hard copy of student list, and include student photos if required.

 

 

 

Attendance (administrators)

The Attendance menu is intended for school administrators.

Absent Students and Unmarked Rolls

·         These menus will list students marked as absent or rolls that are unmarked for the day. Results will be filtered based on the current time. The date can be changed to any other day.

·         The reason for absence can be changed in this view by choosing from a drop down list.

·         Parent / Guardian notifications can be sent via email or SMS.

·         Right click on a student to view their absence history, notifications history and class list for each absent day.

 

 

Roll marking

·         Mark a particular student absent for a range of periods and days.

·         Mark a particular class or form group absent for a range of periods and days (excursions etc).

·         Mark the entire school or an entire year level absent (curriculum days, study leave etc).

·         Roll mark any class as would be done by a teacher.

·         Absences marked by an administrator cannot be overwritten by a teacher when marking a class roll.

·         View the school roll for the day or period of days. This shows the number of student absences against total students.

 

 

Attendance Reports

·         Census - This is a Dept of Education and Training specified report listing students with unapproved absences exceeding 20% of the rolls marked for that student.

·         Summary - This report gives a summary of absences by year level and gender - within specified dates. This is also a Dept of Education and Training specified report, with calculations as per their guidelines.

·         Absentee List - build your own report, using a list of criteria such as Teacher, Subject, Student or Absence Code all within specified date ranges. The report can be printed, exported to Excel or used to generate mail notifications to parents.

Absent Alerts

This page alerts the school of students with excess absences - as per criteria selected.


 

 

Class Details (teachers)

The Class Details Page allows you to enter class notes, homework (both viewable by students) and enter staff notes. You can also:

·         Set a hyperlink and attach documents, viewable by students

·         View class summary, which includes student attendance and performance

·         View a list of current assignment tasks set for this class

·         Email the class

Other views in this menu:

·         Class History – a list of all the dates and details specific to any class

·         Class Diary – a list of all classes and notes, over a period of days as selected

 

Student Details (teachers and admin)

Student Details can be viewed by right clicking on the student's name from any menu, or using the Find function. The log of notes are entered by any staff member and are not viewable by students. Attendance and assessment details are also available using the tabs.

Assessment and Assignment Tasks (teachers)

The assignments page displays a list of all assignments set by the currently logged on teacher. Clicking on the task name will open the assignment page for that task. The Assignment Task page displays the details of a particular assignment and allows you to: set dates, attach documents, mark the task, add comments, print or export results.

Bulletins (administrator)

The Bulletin system allows important information to be distributed to staff, students or both. This is an administration tool, however teachers can be assigned rights.

·         Bulletins are displayed on each users Day Planner page.

·         If set as ‘priority’ the message will scroll continually across the top of each users pages.

·         Bulletins are set with a start and finish date. Administrators can view all previous bulletins.

Hosted DayMap

In one hour we could have your entire school up and running with electronic roll marking and attendance reporting. Try it out for a month and if you like it, you can continue using it and pay the annual hosting charges, or you can then purchase the in-school version of Daymap. It’s that easy.

Hosted Daymap is the perfect solution for many schools. There are no infrastructure costs, no IT support requirements, it’s reliable and secure and it is very affordable. We have also separated Daymap into modules, allowing you to implement the roll marking / attendance module first and progress to other Daymap features if and when you see fit.
